Bethany Joy Lenz is best known for her work on The CW’s "One Tree Hill" and for being a series regular on the CBS soap opera "Guiding Light." In late 2012, after completing a nine-year stint on "One Tree Hill," Lenz also appeared in an episode of the TBS half-hour comedy "Men at Work." Additionally, she played a major role in the final season of the Showtime hit "Dexter."
Lenz recently won the lead role in E!'s first scripted series "Songbyrd," produced by Oscar® winners Neil Meron and Craig Zadan and based on the life of famed Grammy-Award® winning songwriter Diane Warren. She will play the role of Lauren Byrd (intended to be Diane) alongside Robert Hoffman and Rumer Willis.
In addition to her work as an actor, Lenz enjoys a successful musical career, including two albums as a solo artist, two albums with her band Everly and a 25-city tour with The Wreckers and Gavin DeGraw. She also logged many musical performances during her time on "One Tree Hill."
Lenz adapted Nicholas Sparks’ novel The Notebook into a libretto, eventually presenting it as a live theatrical workshop, which served as a preliminary step toward an opening in New York City.
Lenz’s philanthropic work includes an online boutique called Lark. This boutique sells apparel, with original designs by Lenz and all proceeds benefit the charities Love 146 (an NPO dedicated to the abolition of child trafficking), To Write Love On Her Arms and Reading is Fundamental.
